Russia and Norway share 196 kilometer border in the north. While a great political thriller unfolds between Russia and the West, people on both sides of the border go on with their lives. Since 2010 the two countries have granted border traffic permits to residents living less than 30 kilometer from the border, and people travel to go shopping or visit friends in the neighbouring country.
